    Too much compression. adjusted the valves and it got worse

    If valves are set correctly and you still have high compression it's your compression release on the cam shaft.. with plug out and justbefore TDC your exhaust vale should bump open a tad to allow compression out for fire up.. if it's a briggs 17.5 intek they are famous for cam issues.. always be...

    Deck pulley

    Howdy folks...trying to hunt down/buy a flat deck pulley for a stanley/murray mower ....hard over here!...pulley size is w. 4 -3/4 strong, height 1-1/4strong, bore 12.7mm/ 1/2 inch.......part number 9690549 at Jacks small engine parts is giving me an almost 6inch pulley!!!!!!!!...too big.. :frown:

    Just to get some thoughts on RPM...On the bigger push mowers I usually set at 3,250 as apposed to the norm factory setting of or around 2,900 ... older or small mowers I leave as is unless they are under factory spec... In this steamy jungle grass is rarley 100% dry and some extra RPM helps...
