Yeah .. a 22 year old "kid" , with a wife & baby too! AND ... when I was in Nebraska we had Arctic gear ( USAF issue ) and now down here, if the temp gets below 70deg. I wear enough warm clothes that I resemble the Pillsbury Dough-Boy or the Micheline Tire Plumpy !! yeah we could grill , ( don't forget MY grills are portable ! ) just go to the local brothel and bring a pig , do you like porker ..???..........:cool2:

Boo,

Did you mean to ask, (at the last) "Would I like to _______" . . . . If so, then the answer is - Yes! Most likely..

Re: Pissin' People off....

After reading all these other threads where you guys have either pissed somebody off or in some cases, been pissed ON! It makes one reflect on the past year this thread has rolled along without a single harsh word between any of us. And that's not because no mechanical problems haven't been dealt with either. That's what started it all.

It might occur to some of these guys, that when you come, with hat in hand, to ask for help, - first you need to describe your problem in the most accurate way you can. Then you need to do your level headed best to understand what it is that you've been told to do to correct it. If you don't understand, then explain why and ask again..... Bert-Man and I went though this process about grease way back when I was trying to select an appropriate lubricant for my non-sealed transaxle that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg. Bert is VERY knowledgeable about grease and lubricants -- (Any man who keeps a 5 pound tin of petroleum jelly on his bed stand knows what he is doing!) -- But unfortunately he speaks a foreign language that I often had to depend on others to interpret for me.. (I mean who knew your could obtain a decent hair pomade by extracting oil from a gland that wombats have!!) . . . Anyway, I learned a great deal about lubricants and finally settled on Corn Head Grease by John Deere. If, like me, you haven't spent half your life running a ten row combine, then you probably never heard of "Corn Head Grease" either.. But it's great stuff for unsealed transaxles. It liquefies under the pressure of gear operation and then solidifies when you aren't using the machine, so it doesn't leak out.. And best of all, it's inexpensive!!

Was it Pogo who asked - "Can't we all just get along?" . . . No, he was the one who said, "We have met the enemy and they are us!" .... But, I would like to say - "Thanks" to all you guys who have taken the time to be involved in this little endeavor. And "Thanks" to the Administrators who have allowed us to continue for so long 'on their dime', so to speak..

To all of you who read this thread and do not take a few moments to at least introduce yourselves, or participate in a more active way, all I can say is . . . "Piss Off"..................:laughing::laughing:

Agreed

hey don't go hogging all the credit.
Rivets had a go at him and I did my bit as well.
The bloke is a F'wit racing around blindly stabbing in the dark.
When offered help he ignored it and again went off on his own tangent shoving his probes everywhere they did not belong.

He is over on the Lawn mower forums now seeking christian solace and soaking up all the "poor boy you" posts.
His mower is still not running and with the way he is going it never will.

When his type came in , I used to fix their mowers on the spot as they were either a dud safety switch or more frequently just loose valves.
I got no thanks, they argued about the $ 60 labour ( cause I don't have a shop front and a cutie with 1/2 her tits hanging out at the front counter ) then seem to think they should get some sort of discount cause they have already spent $ 600 on stuff they did not need to replace.

Now I worked out how to handle them.
I take their mower tell them will look at it during the week, fix it the next day wait a week or two charge $ 180 and write an invoice that is 2 pages long, written long hand almost impossible to read.
They then think I am some sort of genius who eventually overcame this overwhelming problem that they could not work out regardless of how much money they threw at it and leave with a smile on their face, not feeling like an idiot who has just pis$ed big bucks up the wall cause thay had no idea what they are doing.
the little crying snowflake left me an evil private message and told me to F' off because I am a F' in bastoid. Had to read it a several times to make sure it wasn't a family member contacting me.

I got a chance to look at one of the Bolens blowers that came in the pile. According to the label, it was made July of this year - less than 4 months ago. It had a broken starter rope and scored cylinder.

Ron,

I have to admit... That one had me laughing right out loud..

Good guys... All with a good sense of humor.. Well, most of them anyway..

Rog

Me too! I love Ron's "off the wall" quips !! He really does help in the laughs department !!

A skill which I honed thru high school and afterwards in order to befriend women.
Unfortunately, most thought of me to be too funny to be taken seriously............
I discovered that it laughing and heavy breathing are not closely related...
btw-my personal motto is"You can lead a man to water, but yoiu can't keep him from pissing in it!"

Re: MTD Yardman Transaxle Rebuild

In the process of dismantling, moving, and rebuilding some shelving units from the upper shop to the lower,
I have misplaced a shelf support.
The thing is 24" long and 2" wide with a couple of silver buttons on each end.
One would consider it difficult to misplace, and even harder not to readily spot.
But, one would be WRONG !
