Got my two newest pushers out today...the silver and red machine is a YardPro (made by Husqvarna) with a Kohler Courage XT-7 173cc

THe black and yellow one is the Brute I got at Menards last year for under $200 after the mail in, store use only rebate check. It has the 190cc Briggs. Both can either side discharge, mulch, or bag.

Do you like the FWD systems? I always hated them - prefer RWD....

Have never owned a RWD push mower myself, I am too cheap to spend the extra money on that feature. Have owned a LOT of FWD pushers, of numerous brands. The only time I would prefer RWD is when I have a huge bag full of grass, but I rarely bag anything but leaves.

My main two mowers are both John Deere brand. The compact tractor is a 955 with the Yanmar 3cyl diesel. I have quite a few attachments including a model 70 loader, 72 inch finish mower, five foot brush hog, back blade plus a variety of garden implements.
The lawn/garden tractor is a A320 JD that was new last year. I tried a cheap brand...and got what I paid for. So far this 320 preforms great.
The 955 is a 1997 model that I bought as a demo. With about 900 hrs on it, it has done everything I asked it to. A real workhorse. My local dealer says it is probably the best compact that Deere has built.
I live on 10 acres and mow about five. I wanted a front mower but have steep hills around my pond and the ditch and was advised that they were not so safe on inclines like that.
Am new here so just trying to introduce myself. Thanks for a site where I can chat and get and maybe give some advice.

That's the plan. Want to get the 1974 MTD 990 back in workable condition first.

Always nice to see another member from Michigan who knows the best equipment is GREEN....

The Deere 955 was my dream tractor when I owned my 318, I lusted after one for many years before I finally purchased my 4210. Agree with the statement about that model being the best CUT JD ever built.

Welcome to LMF....

Good looking set up. Having used a 955 I must say that your dealer is right it is one of the best tractors John Deere has ever made.
