hi all, I mowed about 2 weeks ago and went to mow today and the mower wouldn't start... I cleaned the carb, checked for spark, and then added a shot of quick start into the carb. The mower started but won't stay running?

Does anyone have ideas?

thanks,
Brook

I have a Troy-Bilt with a Briggs motor and had a problem with the governor spring which had rusted; This caused it to stall suddenly.
Check the governor linkage and springs for rust or wear, a cheap fix! Also make sure the linkage and cable for the deadman linkage is
completely disengaged when you press down on the lever; Had a problem with this and also caused starting and unexpected shut down;
I believe this is mentioned in the owners manuals (Troybilt or Briggs&Stratton).
