Buying Advice ????????? what mower????????

I have a home with 10 acres and about 6 i have to mow. I take care of most of it with a compact tractor and finish mower. I am looking to buy a used john deere to mow around the house (under 1 acre). I have looked at many models and am considering a 1990 265, a 1984 212, a 1986 216, or a 2002 lt 166 --- all comparable in price. any suggestions?

Unless you are getting a good price from a good dealer, I would not recommend buying a used tractor. You may be getting someone else's problems. We see a lot of posts from people who buy used and then have to stick money into them. Unless you can do all the work yourself, it's buyer beware.
