Since I got this old rider it wouldn't go up a hill in third gear. This is my first rider and I have never really looked too close at one. The engine would keep running but it would stop so after looking and realizing they were just using a belt for the drive I figured the belt was slipping. My plan was to just get a new belt, put it on and check out everything. Well I couldn't find a new belt locally so I decided to just check it out some more. Looking at the belt tension pulley I noticed the spring on it looked stretched. Well there just happened to be a couple holes an inch or so away from where the spring was hooked so I move it to one of those and now it works great!

It's pretty fun to look at something you have little idea of how it works and just figure it out :)

common sense and just paying attention goes along way in repairing these things. Congratulations.
