I have a Weed eater model XT25 that was new in 2001. This spring I discovered a broken gas line when I went to start it, so I ordered a new gas line and replaced it. Now when I go to run it, the priming bulb acts as if the line is in vacuum. The machine runs off the gas in the priming line only then quits and only runs in choke. The bulb collapses and won't re inflate. I have the gas lines hooked up correctly and so I have no idea what to do next. Any ideas?
Another quuestion is how far into the gas tank should the priming gas line go?

It is real commom for the internal screen to clog, and prevent fuel from going through the carb. Push primer down and doesn't come back up. Also if the internal passages, or check valves stick, will act the same way. Complete carb is around $24.00, and really isn't worth tearing into. Also sometimes when you disassembly the carb, and clean the passages, the check valves will stick open, and it won't prime. that happens about 50-75% of the time, and will need a new carb anyway.
