When I start my mower it smokes quite a bit. It uasually smokes for a little while then will stop. I checked the carb and everything seemed ok. I think the valves need to be adjusted. Is it bad to run it like this if I dont adjust the valves. Right now I dont have the time to do this and i wanted to see if i use it like this will i damage the engine. It is a 15 horsepower kawasaki engine.

It won't hurt anything. Most like oil seeping past the rings when it sets without running for a few days. Valves out of adjustment can cause excessive oil usage, and lost of power but won't hurt the engine other than making it harder to start if it has compression release.

I would add to check the oil before each use to make sure it doesn't get low and cause a major problem.
