Where I live there have been a lot of trees that have toppled over in the last few years. Are there ways of knowing if a tree is in danger of falling with a nudge from Mother Nature?

Look to see if the trunk looks diseased or rotted, or if it is leaning heavily on another tree, especially if it's leaning in a way that you don't want it to fall. Better to take it down when and where you want it than to wake up one morning and find it in your kitchen.

Growing up there were a few trees that fell on my grandma's house and trust me, it's not something you are going to want to deal with. We were very lucky and they weren't heavy enough to damage the house too much and no one was injured.

This seems to happen quite a bit where I used to live, but not here. I've never noticed damage to a tree prior to it, but it happened in big storms where there was torrential rain and wind too.
