i have a snapper 6hp 2 stage snow blower, the book calls for 410-350-6 tires. but the tire says 410-6
so i bought a 410-6 tire. but it looks thinner than the one thats on the rim. will it expand when its installed on the rim.

Yes it will expand.
It will also reduce in height.
Tyre width is the distance between the bulge in the tyre side walls ( widest part ).

However it will not be the same height as the tyre fitted to the other side so the blower will be forever run like a drunken sailor unless the other tyre was marked the same 410-6.

Tyres with one type of marking will not be exactly the same size as tyres marked with a different system.
The 2 number system is used in Europe and the first number is the width with an implied height due to the aspect ratio ( width to height )
I see it on motorcycle tyres but have never seen it on a mower tyre

This chart will explain tyre measurements if you really want to know
