When I turn the key on my Bronco the engine turns and turns and then reluctantly starts up. I recently put a new spark plug and fuel filter and cleaned the carb. Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get it to start up easier?

You don't say what engine you have, but I would check the choke to make sure it is closing all the way.

Its a Briggs Intek OHV engine. What would be the best way to check that the choke is closing all the way?

Put the choke on fully with either the throttle if that is how it works, or pull out the choke cable if it has one. then grab the choke shaft at the top of the carb and see if it will move any further to close the choke. I suspect that you have the throttle actuated choke, and the tab that pushes the choke is out of adjustment and not pushing the linkage far enough to close the choke all the way.
