Hello men,
New here first post.

Riding mower: John Deere La 155. (80 hrs)

Deere la 115 wont go forward or reverse when pedals pressed (tries too, wants too. Creeps forward slightly maybe 10-15 ft low speed - reverse you can hear a faint stretch)

Just reattached a new arm assembly from front frame to front deck and is level.
No tires removed and previous worked like a champ. It’s gotta be simple... it just stopped with running

What do you say men....pride at stake

Not keeping up men... well, it is Saturday dinner time :)

Okay, appears the drive belt has slipped off and wedged.

Drive belt easy to slip back on ?

Two things come to mind
1) belt has jumped off rear pully & is now between the fan & pulley
2) bypass valve is not fully colsed
3) the tesnioning pulley is not pulling the drive belt tight enough
( No 3 was a bonus )

Hello and thank you down under. Appears to be #1.

Think it’s possible to get that belt unstuck and pried back on? Recommendation?
Off course without pulling the deck off....

That will depend if you can sort out a pocket full of small change on your belly without touching a coin with your hands, or slip out of a strait jacket suspended 100' above a fire by chains around your ankles.
behind the rear pulley there are a couple of long bolts to stop the belt doing what yours had just done and they can be a PIA to get at.
Remember is is a Deer so they are metric.

Go to the JD web site and have a look at the parts break down for the transmission
You can print out the diagram which will be handy.

Ha! You had on the sorting coins on the pocket.
Soooo, your saying there’s a chance. ‘Or’ your saying there’s a chance (Carey: dumber & dumber with hot chick)

Thank-you I will do just that and share back.

Well I do this for a living so time is money & I pull the deck off
It is only 3 R clips

Slip some 2x4's under the deck sideways to use as slide rails.
Drop the deck onto the 2x4's undo the pins wind the lift handle to the highest position slip the belt off then slide the deck 1/2 out to the left.
If you have a manual PTO then you can now remove the PTO cable then slide the deck right out of the way.

You now have clean access to the underside of the mower.
To get the belt back on either set the brake or remove the spring on the tension arm but take a photo first cause most folk take it off then can not remember where it goes back to as there are a lot of redundant holes in the chassis.
