Skid Shoes and Ice

Used my 2 stage Toro blower a few days ago but now I think the shoes should be set at 1/8 inch and not 1/2 inch.
My question is after adjusting down is it ok to go over my asphalt driveway since it now has ice under snow? Not sure if going into ice would damage anger.

Ive always set up 2-stage blowers skid shoes so the scraper bar is 1/8”. Only time I break this rule would be if the customer has a gravel driveway, then set at 3/8”.
