My cheetah has a Kohler command pro 34hp. Model CV940 serial #4307504321 and is a 61" deck. Mowers is 10 years old and has only cut my yard and stays in my shop when not in use.

Today I cut half my lawn and the mower started acting up. It would idle fine, engage blade all good however, as soon as you pushed the levers forward it would try to go dead. Like it's out of gas but the tank is full. I plan to go get a new fuel filter but do yall have any other ideas.

Pull the blower housing off and remove the kill wires from the magneto coils
Problem goes away = electrical fault
Most probably will be in the parking brake + lap bars + magneto circuit

I did have trouble with the seat switch years ago. It just runs fine until you put a full load on it.

That is exactly what happens when a 2 cylinder engine is running on 1 cylinder

When you pull the levers back to neutral, does it pick back up and run normal?

Changing parts without knowing which part is bad can get expensive.

CV940-2011

And probably struggling to get the deck to speed quickly too. I have seen a few v-twins that did this that were running on one cylinder. Normally however usually engaging the deck kills the engine.
