I have just purchased a 2002 Honda izy HRG415c2 the mower starts although has been stood a long time I drained the fuel and carb refilled with new fuel
The mower does start and run
The problem is the controls are in reverse so the tortoise setting the engine runs as if it was cutting
On the rabbit setting the engine ticks over
Wondered if the rods are in the wrong position

Most control levers can be set up to either pull or push.
My guess is someone has pulled it apart & reassembled it backwards, or just fitted a universal one wrong.

i have ordered new carb gaskets air filter and spark plug
i'm going to strip the carb and clean it
then have a look at the controls
at first i thought the rods were fitted incorrect on the carb
