Hello out there I am a newby to the forum. I have a 4.5 HP Briggs & Stratton Craftsman lawn mower. When I try to start it I get a bad kickback I know that a sheared flywheel key can cause this but the key looks fine it is still lined up with the slot in the shaft. Could there be another problem that can cause the kickback? The mower did hit somefthing because the blade is not straight has a slight bend to it.

WELCOME TO LMF!
Maybe reading this will give you an idea: My lawn mower kicks back when I try to start it. If I am - JustAnswer.
Good luck!
