which way does pulley go on?

Boy that would be a hard question to answer unless your mower only has one pulley. You might find a parts diagram on the web would tell you. Also I would assume this pulley runs a V belt now you would want this pulley to line up with another pulley and you would want the belt to run straight as possible.
