Briggs threw a rod so need to buy a 33S877-0019-G1 replacement engine. Wondering if anyone discounts these are
all vendors about the same price. No hurry, will have to wait until its cooler to replace.

A rod is cheaper than a replacement engine. Unless no longer made.

No big sales unless you are a business and can buy at wholesale.

Need the whole thing. Rod is visible from the outside of the engine

I use Small Engine Warehouse
and
small engine suppliers
Both have engines that would fit
Depending upon how old the mower is and what you do with it you may get away with a 31 series or if you want a much better engine go with the 40 series V twins
Just check is they will physically fit in the space, usually front engined mowers will be fine but Rear engined mowers including some ZTR's may not have enough space .
The V twin will also need a new muffler and a mount for it
I dropped a couple of them in Husqvarna LT & YT that blew their Kohlers big time and it worked out about $ 600 cheaper plus the twins deliver nicer power & do not vibrate any where near enough .

Most mowers are grossly over powered so going down one engine size will not be noticed
