I currently own a rider with an opposed twin. Many hours, though I don’t know the actual amount. Smokes on startup and burns a little oil, I’m guessing piston rings are worn. I’m thinking an engine swap might be in my future, and I was wondering a couple things. I would like to keep this mower as I’ve replaced all belts and pulleys and it mows and runs great. A twin 20hp Intek was something I’m curious about. I have a manual pto and I’ve heard some people say to make sure you get a motor that will handle the pressure from the manual pto. From what I can see, most of the 40N877 engines use a very similar lower bushing that my 42A707 does. Is this something I need to consider? Also, I know I would also need to work with the wiring to make sure the fuel solenoid receives DC and not AC power.
