Pink Fluid on top of Battery

Hello,

I purchased my JD x300 about 3 weeks ago and have put 3 hours on it. I opened the hood cover last night after a cut and noticed a pink fluid on top of the battery. This struck me as odd since it's brand new, so figured I'd ask about it. Just has me a bit nervous since I just bought the mower.

With only 3 hrs. on it I would think it would be a good question for the dealer to answer.

Did you notice it on tbe battery at all before using it? The only thing I can think of it being is battery protectant spray

I called the dealer this morning. They confirmed it was a spray to protect the battery. He said that most places do not do this. It wasn't the first time he got a call about this, so I don't feel too foolish. Thanks for the replies.
