PDF?

I have a Craftsman model 917.252560 riding mower and would like to get a pdf manual (free preferrably). I had one and don't seem to be able to locate the site where I found it. Also, I replaced the mower deck belt with the recommended belt ( 1/2" x 95") and it is tight, so much it's dragging the starter and I can't start the mower. Is there an adjustment on the mower to give it a little slack until the belt wears in alittle? Thanks

The mower deck belt should not affect the engine when starting. That belt is on the electric clutch and it should be free wheeling when not engaged. You may have a probem with the clutch (PTO). remove the belt and try starting if the problem still exist it's the starter or something. If the problem only happens when the belt is on the tractor I would check the PTO.

Thanks for the answer, but I think you have the wrong mower, there is no electric clutch involved, nor on the mower. It's engaged strictly by linkage.

The belt could be off one pulley? Try searspartsdirect.com
