well after sometime,..i bought a tranny for the free 1994 "KERMIE" Kgro... i got it from a local repair shop that had bought out other dying businesses stock.... i got it for $150.normally $500...its a spicer 4360-149 for a "john deere"..replacing the stock 4360-96...its a 5sp instead of 6sp..i had to transfer the brake bracket and lever from the old one,,and re-fit the frame mount brackets to the inner hole location [which was the same] and added extra new bolts and locknuts and spacers.....the new tranny is about 3" wider, giving the rear a wider [hot rod] stance .... the pic on the bench is the old one..now i have to remove the "6" on the shift indicator and this part of the project shoud be done!

Nice find on both the tractor and transmission. I love to hear about a bargain. Of course you no longer have a "free" tractor, it's now a $150.00 bargain tractor
