I have a John Deere L100 riding mower.....smelled gas in man cave today and noticed a small puddle of gas under my mower. Opened the hood and noticed a unit on the side of the motor, towards the back with several fuel lines going to it...looks like it is leaking.......what is that unit called? So I can look it up.Thanks.

Sounds like the fuel pump.

Maybe a fuel pump. I would check fuel lines for cracks first

If you haven't already done so, move it out of the man cave to outdoor atmosphere while deciding how to stop the leak.

Will do Citizen....funny, it just started leaking as I was sitting in my man chair.....I could see a small puddle get bigger......this must be the year to fix ever thing....weed eater stopped running...push mower needed carb rebuild.....now this.

On closer inspection...the fuel lines have huge cracks in them!.....Pump may be ok after all.
