murray 14.5 ohv briggs motor carb leaking

I got this mower for free it was going to b scrapped have made various repairs and it runs good now its leaking from around the bowl of carb can anyone help.

Someone has likely removed the bowl and failed to get the gasket correctly installed... Remove it and check that it is not broken or incorrectly installed... it may be missing completely.

The newer Briggs carbs had a bad habit of leaking when sitting, the bad thing is that the excess fuel would leak into the crankcase and foul the
engine oil, so check that, then you would replace the carb bowl gasket and inlet needle, polish the needle with a q-tip and baking soda while apart,
and re-assemble, then put in an in-line fuel shutoff, to use when the mower sits in the garage.
