Mower starts good at startup

I like trouble shooting stuff, but electrical shorts are a nightmare to me but it's easy to say I'll take to a shop without knowing that l could of fix that. With this forum l am starting to learn how the system works on a riding mower.

Briggs & Stratton do an alternator guide that has all of the basic wiring circuits used on most mowers shown in it called "The repower guide "
Even better is any of the JD manuals which actually explain how each bit, including the wiring works
Not sure is JD ever did a RER but it was a massive revalation to me when I bought my first one & made my life very easy
