mower ran for a while,I took a break, now it won't start

I mowed about half the of the back,took a water break and rest(about 25 minutes)then it won't start back up.I changed the plug,shot carb cleaner into the carb,checked the oil,gas and air filter again,nothing.I'm not very good with motors,so I'm a little hesitant to take it apart,so would spraying starter fluid help?Or might it be something else?

Brake/clutch pedal down ?
Shift lever in N ?
Did you try with choke on and off?

What mower do you have?

The only things I know,its a push mower,with a B&S 6.5 hp motor,it's got self propel on it ,which I don't remember ever using.And a dead man bar you have to hold down to start it and for it to run.
