Try and jump start it with another GOOD battery.

The mostly likely problem is the most likely thing wrong.

A bad celled battery?
If that isn't it you will have to work forward from there.

Okay so the starter spins with the solenoid bridged. I would check the fuse, if intact then check the voltage above the fuse holder(they can go bad). If that is good then check the voltage on the small tab(one wire attached) on the solenoid while trying to start. If I'm not mistaken this is a three pole solenoid.
Battery can be load tested for free at most Napa or other auto centers that sell batteries.

Yes, The cable from the battery to the starter.

Cable goes from the battery to the solenoid not starter
The solenoid is just a fancy dancy switch ans is bolted to the mower
From there it goes to the starter which hangs off the engine
So which has power, the solenoid or the starter?

Problem solved,
Found 2 fuses in the dash, took both apart then together and it then started.
Must have been a bad contact in the fuse holder.

Thanks all

The grass has been mowed, all 2 acres.
