I'm fixin' to get serious about my lawn this fall, and I'm wondering about the application of lime - most lawn experts recommend prodigious amounts of lime and gypsum. While the lime may be great for the lawn, I'm worried that some of the trees won't like it. Great lawn, no trees... not what I'm looking for. Anyone have any experience in this?

Lime will sweeten up your soil... IF you need it...

Collect samples and most county extension offices will test your soil and give you a full report with recommendations. KennyV
PS gypsum will help break down clay if you have heavy clay.... A good soil test is your best starting point.
