What does the letter in the model mean. I have an L series rider. Now they have the D series mowers?:confused2:
When asked what the D stood for in the model I was told Deere. This was not at a dealer, it was at a box store.

Thanks
Jim

Back when I worked in the pleasure boat industry, we used letters in lieu of model years, as not much changed from year to year. Made it easier to move old stock; it had the same quality and warranty, but it saved us from having to discount "last years model." A major change was usually a new model altogether. Maybe John Deere does the same thing.

It could be a production run variation or a minor change... (or something else), check with a dealer, he should be able to decode every number and letter ... :smile:KennyV
