It depends on your skill level.to change the solenoid is straight forward enough but the top end de-coke could be a bit of a test if you have not done one before.
I am all for saving cash but to be on the safe side I would take it the dealership.

Try premium fuel or let the engine cool 1/2 minute before turning off the engine. Premium is only 10 cents more per gallon, cheap fix!
