I have a 2005 Lawn boy 10696 that has always started, now it won't. I have no spark at the coil, unless I unplug the ground, then I have spark, Does anyone have any suggestions from here? I am thinking about replacing the ground wire harness as that is all I can think it could be. Am I missing something?
Thanks,
Aaron

Are there any safety switches like for the bag if it get too full? Could be an issue with one of them, or you have a wire rubbed through some where that is shorting out the system. I would guess you need to remove the wire harness and inspect all connections.

lewb knows...

My has a safety switch that will not let it run with the bag removed or there is a chute *plug* that must be installed and locked when the bag is not being used. You can see the wires run back into the plastic cover where the handle attaches. I think it is some kind of magnetic switch that senses when either the bag steel frame or the *plug* lock steel bar is in position within the sensor.
