I have a grasshopper with the kubota 725 engine. It only runs with the choke out 1/3 to 1/2 and will not idle at all.
Just went to start it and it will not start, I do not hear the fuel pump run. Should I replace it? I did put in a new fuel
filter and new plugs.

Thanks for any help,

Found part of the problem, broken wire to the fuel pump, that's fixed. But it still runs rough unless the choke is out
1/2-2/3.

Any ideas/suggestions?

thanks

Possibly could be a intake leak, the best way to test is use a spray can of carburetor cleaner spraying it around the base of the carburetor and intake manifold while the engine is running. If the engine speeds up at all when sprayed you have found your intake leak. It still could be a fuel problem but the intake leak would be the first test I would try.
