What a mess. Powder all over my jeans and shoes. I used a drop speeder, but the whirlybird type mechanism caused the powder to fly off in a wide distribution. Used only about 25 lbs. for 1,000 sq. ft. and it looked like a massive frost when done. Then turned on the sprinklers. It was nice to see all the white disappear in less than 30 seconds, meaning that the sprinkler coverage was good.

I have never checked the soil pH, but so far things are fine with: Scott's fertilizer, Ironite, Milorganite, Lime, drilling holes, and gypsum. This could be a full time employment.

Here's a link: How To Use Lime and Gypsum Fertilizers?*at The Home Depot

If the pH should be checked, what kit is recommended?
