john Deere LT 155 seems to travel fast enough until you go up a little incline. This incline is only 20-25 ft. There is not any belt to control this, Is It? It seems it is all hydraulic controlled. I know this mower is kinda old around 1998-2001 but it doesn't smoke at all, seems to have good compression. Could it be low on transmission fluid, maybe affecting the travel speed conditions. It looks to me there is no threads on the foot linkages that control the forward and reverse. So it looks like I am doing all I can do to go forward. Any suggestions?

You do have a belt and is't maybe time to put on a new one if you have had this tractor since new. Did you buy it new? If it is the original then it may be worn out.

Gfp55 thanks for reply, I expect the belt is original. I didn't buy it new, it's a used mower my father-in-law bought and I am getting it in good shape for him. I looked under the mower and did not see this belt, only the blade belt. That was why I thought it was just hydraulic operated.
Mechanic mark found your reply, thanks for the links. Is there any adjustment for the belt. I will look myself in a few minutes, it is probably the original one. I also am looking for the hood and cowl for the mower. Someone broke it, can't say it wouldn't be easy to do. Once again it is a Lt155.

Guys would like to update my post about the speed problem with the Lt155. Finally I ordered a new belt and installed it today. Installed it, put mower deck back on and started it up. Initially I would mash reverse pedal and it would start moving in reverse, but push the pedal further and it did not move any faster. I let off the reverse pedal pushed the forward pedal and it started forward, pushed pedal further down and the forward speed did not increase. I repeated this 3-4 times then it stopped responding in either direction. no movement what so ever in any direction. Alll this was done at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. I thought the belt had came off, shut engine down and removed the deck again to go underneath and see better. Everything was in order, all belt routing seemed to be in order. Now I am at a standstill pondering what might be amiss. Looked my belt # up on the John Deere site and the old belt has the same # on it. So it seems I have proper length. I jacked back of mower up and started it up and looked underneath the belt is not turning where it goes around engine pulley. Reached up and pushed forward pedal and the belt was still a little too loose to turn on the engine pulley. According to the belt routing someone posted here I have the belt around the pulleys correctly. Any ideas or can nI adjust the slack?
