John Deere Buc 10595 Mulch Kit 60 " Question

Have a question Just bought a new Z Trak JD Z730 M 60" deck and have the BUC 10595 mulch kit on order . I was told that it does not work as a mulcher and will not stay engaged anyone have this mulcher that can tell me if they like it or not , wanting it for mainly for leaves. Do not want to spend $350 and does not work . Any help would be appreciated .

This is a Mulch Control kit. What this means is that you have a lever on the right side that you can use to open the gate and allow the right blade to clear itself if your grass is too wet or too high to mulch. The center and left blades are always in mulch mode. When you close the gate, all 3 blades are in mulch mode. These kits work very well if you're mowing off no more than 1" of dry grass. Mulching is the most complicated way to mow because the conditions have to be right, which can be a challenge in the spring. You just have to make the decision that works best for you.
