I have a Husqvarna LTH 1438 riding mower that I'm having a problem with. It will not go in gear. I removed the deck and the drive belt is in good condition and tight. The little wire rod that you pull out to disingage the transmission to push it doesn't seem to work. It stays disengaged all the time. The rod is hooked to a lever on the tranny and that moves but the tranny will not engage. I was told by the dealer that there are no servicable parts available inside the tranny but I'm stubborn. The engine works great and the deck and mower are in good condition to just throw it away. If I take the tranny off the mower and open it up, is there anything inside that I can work on? Has this problem ever been fixed before?

It appears that it is a hydrogear transaxle, and should have internal parts available. Will need the numbers/letters off of the tag on the transmission it self. Usually located on the rear or on the side of the differential area.

Be aware hydrogear will not warranty any repairs or replacement unless performed by an authorized service center.

Might wanna try this place ..IF considering a replacement trans ... Trouble is with Surplus Center ..is you have
to decide to purchase soon.. they don't keep these items in stock very long...although they do have different models ALL the time. I purchased a trans from them 2 years ago ,..and no problems ... I HIGHLY recommend them , you can call and speak with some very helpful folks there also.....Boobala
