Mower won't start unless we throw gas in the carb. We replaced the spark plugs, the fuel filter, checked the float ring. It has fresh gas and we used a bottle of fuel treatment. I don't know what else to try. Any thoughts?

Maybe you could post the model# serial# Both the engine and mower.

Make sure the choke is closing all the way. I have seen one Husqvarna and one Craftsman this year with the single throttle/choke control, that wasn't adjusted to close the choke all the way, therefore were hard to start.

Not sure we know how to check that but we will try. Would like to avoid taking it to a mechanic but its not looking good. Thank you for you advice.

Maybe you could check out a Utube video on small engine repair, there is lots of (how to) videos there.

Ok, so we checked it out and youre right. Its not closing. There is a silver lever that we pushed up and it started right up. So we know the problem we just don't know why or how to fix it. Suggestions?

Try blocking off the air intake with your hand or a rag to see if it will start before worring about adjusting the choke. gregjo1948
