I have an older HRM 215 SXA (self-propelled) mower. One of the rear tires has split down the middle. This mower calls for the 42710-VE2-800 rear wheel assembly. In that these wheels are expensive, I'd like to try to use the 42710-VE2-M01ZA. Honda support tells me this wheel will not fit my mower. Does anyone know the difference between the wheels? I'm fairly handy, have access to toolroom equipment, and am wondering if I could modify the M01ZA so that it would work. Thanks for your help.

pictures for your viewing pleasure. Looks like the teeth count or backset is different. I counter 35 on one and 36 on the other.

Do the same as we do with automobiles ..use junkyard parts .. but, if there are none to be had .. then buy a ''new'' mower .. With the car , I am at that point ..
