Year ago had same issue would fire up for a second with a quick spray to carb with ether. I took off spark plug sprayed ether in cylinder and it must have did the trick and sucked gas through mower ran great all year thereafter. At end of season I ran mower completely out of gas. Now this season I filled it up go to start and nothing. I try ether again gets it running but no more than the few seconds the ether gives it. Still seems like gas is not flowing through. But odd last year same scenario but the ether sprayed in plug hole did the trick. Any ideas?

Please STOP using either as a starting fuel!! It is drying out your system. Use carb cleaner which will work just as good and protect you engine. Audie is correct on how to correct your problem.
