fuel primer pump connections

I have a FS250 string trimmer and the fuel pump broke so I picked up a new one. Problem, there are to hoses to connect.is it the longer or shorter stem that connect to the fuel tank? The other one connects to the carburetor. I took them both off so when I went to the shop I was sure to get the right one.

I know this is an old post, but.....the long one goes to the tank....the one on top goes to the carb.
