Engines on the new Toro walk behinds

I'm thinking of getting one of the lower end Toro push mowers ($300 or so). There appear to be two engines available on these, both are 6.75hp: Kohler and B&G. Would they be comparable in quality? Should that be the basis of picking which model to choose?

I see more Kohlers in my shop with valve issues than B&S engines with any issues .

Sell the Toros and I would take the B&S hands down, no questions asked.
