Bought a used Murray with a B&S motor, 31R907 0007 G1 140924ZD about 2 months ago for use at my home. It started every week with no issues until yesterday when it cut off after about 5 minutes of mowing. The gas is good and flowing to the carburetor. I did see a spark at the plug once, but not since. Cleaned the plug, the corrosion from the flywheel magnet, and magneto. regapped the magneto (coil) but still won't start. Pulled the wire from magneto to test for spark by bypassing switch, but not seeing any spark at the plug. Ordered a new magneto.
Time before last I changed the oil to synthetic and noticed a bit of smoking briefly when it started yesterday, but soon disappeared.
What else would cause the mower to die during mowing and not restart beside electrical (and knowing there's gas in the tank/carb.
