I am lookig at either the straight or the articulating hedge trimmer. I know the articulating one will make it easier to trim hard to reach tall hedges. I have yet to come to a one that would be to tall for me to do with the straight trimmer. Is the articulating one worth the extra weight and money?

Well it depends what you primarily do. If you would only use the articulating 1 once every few months, it would not be worth it. It sounds like you have never found a need for the articulating one up to this point, so I would just get the straight one.
