Hello all, thank you for reading.

I have a 2022 John Deere S110 riding lawn mower. Today after finishing mowing one full acre, I was cleaning off the mower and made a grim discovery. The lever/pin (that you pull out to disengage the transmission so you can push the mower freely) was out. I suspect it was out the whole time I was mowing. I did not notice anything amiss when mowing, but I did mow quite a lot in this condition. What damage did I cause? What can I do to help the situation? Can anything be done? I am of course worried about transmission damage now. Appreciate all help, thank you.

1) it is just a valve like a ball valve that diverts to oil from the pump either to the sump ( no drive ) or motor ( drive )
Better than average chance the bit of bent wire has straitened up
So no not likely to have damaged anything
What damages them is towing with the drive engaged
