to tie your equipment when transporting. If you do your knowledge of how to tie an improved clove hitch knot will make your life simpler and you can talk normal around clients, your minister, women and the grand kids when it is time to un-tie. Handy for non ratchet straps too.

Did you try the Trucker's Hitch, it`s easy and very strong knot.

Yes Sir, but rather than ending with the plain jane half hitch I speed things up some and make it easier when tying and un-tying that half hitch. Rather than bringing the long rope standing end through to form the half hitch I double the standing end back through at that point like we would a single boot lace bow. It holds the same but unties in an instant like the boot lace.

Doubling back through is how I acquainted myself with what I determined was my Improved Clove Hitch ( pictured ). The disadvantage is it has a standing end and that end will hold nothing where the standard Clove Hitch will hold from either end but in this subject only one end is needed to hold.
