cub cadet LT 1018 stalling

had this tractor since 2003. when i start the engine, it runs for about 5 minutes and stalls out. when i try to restart it will run a few seconds and stop again. I have checked the oil and the air filters. They are ok.
seems to happen more whenn im going up or down a hill
I am trying to suck up leaves ; using my attachment...had noticed decreased power

Hello Derreke ... WELCOME to LMF...

It sounds like you are having a fuel delivery problem...
Check the fuel cap, it may not be vented as it needs... Just loosen the cap to see if it will run.

Could have accumulated water in the bottom of the fuel bowel on the carb... or in the fuel tank itself...
You can loosen the bolt on the bottom of the fuel bowel, let a few ounces of fuel out... any water will come out first...

If neither of these takes care of the problem, post back ... :smile:KennyV

The other day I went to fill the tank on our CC 1600 and saw black material in the bottom of the tank. I fished it all out and it was pieces of the gasket from the gas cap. I got a generic cap from TSC for $6 which fits. I saw the same cap in Lowe's for $4.50.
