Craftsman YT 3000 Seat Attachment Issue

I'm new here and of course I come with a problem. I have a Craftsman YT 3000 riding mower, old but well maintained. A couple months ago the seat began slipping forward on its own while mowing and I was able to push it back into position until today. Now the seat frame is stuck on the rails in a position so close to the steering wheel that I can't get in front of it to push it back. I haven't found any help online or on YouTube but through my searches I found this group. Id like to avoid replacing it and fix it myself. Any advice?

Post model # from under seat, starts with 917, raise seat & see if is hung up somewhere. Adjust seat where you want it & make sure all hardware is tight & secure. Lube all moving parts with White Lube or similar.
