I have a craftsman eager 1 that is at least 25 years old. I need a Tecumseh carb for it. The carbs I see on YouTube look just like the one I have.
But all the Tecumseh carbs I see on Amazon won't work. Please someone tell me a carb part #. It is casted to accept a 3/4" (inside) air elbow tube.
The carbs I see on YouTube don't have this 3/4" air acceptance thing.
Please help! Carb part #.

Which Tecumseh engine do you have? You'll have to cross reference the Sears code on the engine shroud to get the model # for Tecumseh. Also what the HP rating of your engine? You may have better luck sear hung on eBay for a new carb. I can still find them on there for my 22 year old Craftsman with a Tecumseh TVS90...

On the little plate is stamped model 917 374510 date 020287 S# 000246
on the plate (not stamped) is 85830 Other places it says Eager 1 and Craftsman II.

The carb has 500 and 1219 A7B

None of these #s seems to work.

Thanks

The engine # should be stamped on the metal shroud, probably above the spark plug. It may start with 143.*****.

You have a Tecumseh TVS90 engine. Same one I have. Here's a link to eBay for a carb that will work for your engine.

Happy to help. Good to near about keeping these slightly older mowers going. Mine is a whole 5 years newer than yours, but she runs like it was just bought yesterday...

This spring I put gas in and it fired right up. Loud. I declared it a Boeing 767. It quit after a few minutes and I only could keep it running by priming it with a squirt bottle so I decided to get the carb and a new rubber elbow. Thanks for your help.
