Bronco Jerks badly on forward motion

The worst one I have pulled down had so many washers packed in there the shaft was tight on the housing.
he had put shims on the sliding dog so the arm pushed it further across and had packed out the drive gear tp\opush in further down & deeper into the two crown gears.
The box was that tight you needed a 18" spannar on the imput shaft nut to turn it around.
His complaint that brought it into me was it kept on snapping drive belts and throwing idler bearings.
Down here that crown gear is $ 148 and the sliding dog is $ 122 ( both plus GST ) so I can see why he did it , but belts are $ 75 so it was a false economy

:laughing: ...... The average DIYer most likely will over look the max specified manufacture designed tolerance and some might not so worry about torque values to a degree , the tighter the better and the more snug the safer

Installed new thrust washer , washers , put the transmission all back together and filed it with 00 grease about 19-20 OZ or So:roll eyes: . Put every thing back together Succusfully and took it for a spin around the yard . feels like a new mower ... Now its time for it to go to a new Home ....
