Ariens 1742 Blade nut size

I know this is a noob question, but does anyone know what size the jam nut is that retains the blades on an Ariens 1742? I know i's rather large so I have to go purchase a socket to remove it, but I want to make sure I purchase the correct size. Thank you!

I looked all over and could not find anything on its size.

Remove it with a pipe wrench and take it with you to purchase the socket.

That is the size of my trailer hitch ball. That is excessive.
